Update OE, assuming you already haven't.

STGP, OGPE24HSHD
and when that's done, to delete files go to deleted files folder, CTRL + A
to highlight all, then CTRL + D, then "Yes" to delete them all.

Nothing!
Do a find (details from the subject line maybe) to locate the post, right
click it, select move to folder, chose local folders, deleted items.

The delete function is part of service pack 1.
Go to windows update site and install it.
In a round about way, you can delete old posts without it.
First, go off line.
Edit>>find>>messages
at the bottom are two sets of dates, for "before" and "after".
click either box and a calendar window opens up.
select the date accordingly.
click search.
when finished searching, highlight any of the shown posts then press ctrl+a
and delete.
this will take awhile as it is looking up the posts in the proper folder.
once it's done you can check the group to make sure the posts are gone.
Another way, is to go into tools>>message rules>>news.
Create a rule saying to delete any message older than x days.
Pick a group, right click and select properties.
On the local tab, select "reset" then compact.
You'll notice the group name goes from dark bold to light and no numbers.
Enter the group now and you won't see any messages older than the x days
rule set as above.
