I have a pair of V2's I've just put into a win98se PC. The two cards are both reference designs, although from different manufacturers.

With the 3.02 drivers & the SLi cable hooked up, the info page in the display properties says SLi detected, but it still only seems to use one card.

I loaded 3DMark2000 to benchmark it and in the properties section it only offers 800x600 maximum, and says I only have 8Mb texture memory not 16.

I've tried the mismatch DirectX7 drivers (and the GLide ones in gpl) from falconfly's site (thanks!) but it doesn't make any difference.

Any suggestions? Both cards work fine on their own.

Malc.

Hi,

have you tried running other games to see if you can get 1024x768? 3DMark may not recognise the SLI configuration. And you do indeed only have 8MB of texture memory with an SLI rig because the textures are duplicated with one set on each card.

So the best test is simply to try and run Quake or something similar at 1024x768. Or go to Display Properties (right-click desktop background and select Properties from the menu that appears) then click the Voodoo2 tab,
click on System Info and see if it says "Scanline Interleave: Detected!!!"
on the property sheet.

That sounds like a believable explanation, I'll go along with that ;-)

It does say detected, and I tried gpl (Grand Prix Legends) running GLide.
1024x768 was selectable, but when I went on track (the menus are 640x480) it shows a perfect picture but completely frozen, like it's running 1 frame per minute or something!

I guessed it was just a problem with my mismatched cards, it runs fine at 800x600 & 640x480, but no faster than with only one card in, or with scanline disabled.

I tried re-installing the 3.02 drivers over the mismatch drivers (I had previously installed the 3.02's alone, and adding the GLide & Dx7 mismatch drivers gave no improvement) and now gpl will run at 1024x768, and 3dmark2000 runs at 1024 too, but just crashes part way through. Irritating but I can live with it ;-)

One thing I noticed with only one card in was that in 3dmark2000 I could select 1024 although it told me it was unsupported, but only with one frame buffer, which gives a very flickery picture. I can choose 1024 with 3 frame buffers now so I guess it must be working.

Thanks for you help ;-)
