Hi:
There are several things you can check.
#1 First, make sure your home page hasn't accidentally been changed to the site
that comes up. To do this, open Internet explorer, click on tools and on
internet options. There it says "Home page" and "you can change which page to
use for your home page" If you see the address (which you listed below) in the
address line, just change it to another page. I like to use a blank page as that
comes up quick and then you can navigate to where you want to go.
#2 Is MSN your service provider? If it is, then your username and password will
be the ones you use to log on. You can go ahead and do the upgrade.
#3. Do you have a good antivirus program installed on your computer? You might
have picked up a virus, there are tons of them around. If you don't have the
antivirus protection, go right away to:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and you can do a check of your system free.
You will be asked for permission to download a file to your computer so it can
be checked ... This is find, just ok it. Then, if you need an antivirus program,
many people swear by Norton Antivirus ... I have used it and it works fine, but
I prefer PCcillin which you can get from Trendmicro (there should be a link from
the housecall check site) If not just type http://antivirus.com in your browser
and it will take you to the trendmicro web site. I love PCcillin ... you get
automatic virus file updates plus you get a personal firewall along with the
antivirus program (You have to buy a separate firewall with Norton)
Anyhow, hope some of these suggestions may have helped ... Let me know when you
find out what your problem was.
