Hi All,

My apologies in advance for posting in your group, but I really need help with data I'm trying to recover from a dead hard drive. When my daughter was born and arrived home from the hospital, I couldn't afford a camera of video camera to record her, so I borrowed an old webcam from work. It quickly became a ritual to record videos and pictures with the webcam every few days. Over the weeks and months I managed to capture her first smiles, feeding with a bottle,
first laugh and more… at age 4 months I had enough (600MBs worth) media to burn
a CD, but the hard drive crashed the same day I brought a CD home from work. I lost pretty much EVERYTHING I had. My wife and I were completely devasted...

I have tried changing out the controller and several software suites to try and recover the data, but nothing worked for 3 weeks. I finally sent in the drive to a professional data recovery company, and they can extract the data, but at the cost of $1500! Only in my dreams to I have this kind of money around. So,
I'm asking for help from family, friends and strangers alike to please donate a dollar or more to help recover the data. I started a donation site on Friday,
August 15th, 2003 and I'm updating it weekly.

Please visit http://www.completedisarray.com/corinamemories/ if you're interested in helping, or just curious to see more about what happened (There is
a sample movie, a FAQ, and additional proof this isn't a complete scam).

My thanks in advance to anyone who can help by donating or spreading the word along :)

Thanks!
Dan
