What is the Distinguished Impediment Movement?
The Distinguished Impediment Movement (DIM) is an effort to recognize =
those among us who slow, stop, and/or even reverse the course of =
progress. This includes those individuals or groups who, either through =
attitude, aptitude, ineptitude, plain-old corruption, or a combination =
of all these factors, firmly stand as an impediment to people who want =
to make progress or achieve a goal. This means those people who stick =
their feet out to trip us as we try to run past them in our pursuit of =
happiness.

Why Recognize A Distinguished Impediment?
Our culture has long recognized distinguished people in our society for =
positive contributions. Yet, the integrated affects of these positive =
contributions pale in comparison to the effects achieved by those who =
could be recognized as truly Distinguished Impediments (DIs). The extra =
work the DIs creates result in jobs. The extra costs they generate help =
to redistribute the wealth and keep the economy going. Further, they add =
to our body of knowledge, because we are forced to analyze the =
consequences of their contributions. They, in short, make us better =
people by making our lives more challenging. They deserve recognition!

DIM Awards
We at the DIM are working to design and produce a line of awards and =
other products to acknowledge and recognize Distinguished Impediments. =
We would like to hear from those of you who might be interested in =
joining such a movement or think they may be interested in the awards or =
products. Please use DIM as the subject in your email. Looking forward =
to hearing from you.
