Both of my elderly parents are in the Alberta health care system, and are
getting really excellent treatment. The Alberta system is the best in the
country, with the best doctors, and the best equipment. I am pretty sure
they treat everyone the same, regardless of religion or size of mall. <g>

In 1957, I joined the US Army. I remember the first time I had to report to
a black officer. It seemed wrong. I was white! This was at Ft Carson,

exec officer on my company.
But as time went on, he helped me get past the death of my mother. He was
INTELLIGENT, compassionate, and yes, a LEADER OF MEN. His name was Thomas
Jasper. B Company, of the 39th Infantry Regiment, and I would have followed
him to hell, laughing all the way. Check it out. Military records.
In my military years after that, I realised what reality was. We are all
dumb. We are all smart.
No race has a hold on brilliance, character, nor leadership, or honor and
duty. Judge each human for what they are as individuals. Build you own
character. You are only responsible for yourself.
The lesson is, if you have to rely upon race, be you black or white or
yellow or red, to justify your failures, or to explain your successes, you
have no personal character. Your a personal failure, not a racial failure,
whatever and whenever, when you fail at anything. Equally, when you succeed,
Your sucess is the result of your personal efforts.
Politically, I am as far right as you can get, without falling off the right
side of the world.
And yes, it was a very hard transition to realize all that, took a few
years, personally.
And whatever I have done right in this world, I owe to many people, of all
races, Including Lt. Jasper. Whatever I have failed it, is my personal
responsibility, alone.
