We should take our lead from Montana and eliminate speed limits on
four lane divided highways.

Mr. IP should stay more current, the 'reasonable and prudent' went out
four years ago. The speed limit on interstate highways is 75 mph in
most places, less than most people drive on Hwy 2 here. This is the
link.

Yup. They have several -very- big signs at the border so people can't say
"but i thought there was no limit".

I just drove through Montana and strangely enough most people go less
than 75 mph.
First, we'd better stiffen our driver requirements. We've still got a lot of
very stupid drivers in the USA! I suspect Canada also!

Fixed speed limits were reinstated in Montana a few years ago, although
it did work well. I will say thought that as someone who has driven to
Las Vegas 10-15 times that there are vast differences between Alberta
Roads and Montana roads. I drove down just a few weeks ago and their roads
appeared in much better condition and the traffic was far less then here in
Alberta. I think that putting our limits up to 120 would be a good start to
come
in line with most US highways.
