Hi,
We are building a website with pdf files in Hebrew. We are working with Windows and Office XP and Acrobat Professional 6 to create pdf files from Hebrew word documents. Pdf displays the Hebrew text fine, but when I copy the text from pdf back to word it is displayed backwards. Also when we do a search with the Acrobat search tool or by using Indexing Service there are no results. When we search for a Hebrew word typed backwards, then both searches find it.
I understand that there is a Middle East version of the Acrobat. Would it solve our problem? Where can we get a trial version of it? If not what other options are there?
Thank you for your help.
Moria.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that Hebrew is read from right to left?
Yes, Fr Watson is correct. While you can easily prepare Hebrew files from Word to PDF, as you describe, copy-pasting the Hebrew text from PDF to Word or other Middle Eastern (ME) programs must be done with Acrobat-ME software. Otherwise the Hebrew text will be reversed.
Acrobat 6.0-ME is available in standard or professional edition. For extensive editing of PDF, select the PRO-ME package. Enhanced Middle Eastern PDF features include:
FIND Arabic-Hebrew text within PDF, COPY-PASTE Arabic-Hebrew from PDF to your favorite ME software, Save Arabic-Hebrew websites into PDF, Type Arabic-Hebrew within PDF FORMS, etc...
See chart for feature list:

I forgot to mention, while you can open ANY PDF FILE using Acrobat Reader, to handle Arabic-Hebrew "enhanced" PDF files, you will want to use Acrobat "Reader-ME" edition (free at adobe.com) for these enhanced features. I recommend fully embeding the Hebrew fonts into PDF, and make sure fonts have Unicode support.
