Hello all.
using Adobe Reader v6.00, Windows XP SP1, IE v6.
I cannot view pdf files on the www. No matter which link I click on, I get a
window with the message:
"You are not authorised to view this page"
then some blurb then:
"HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden
Internet Explorer"
I'm sure this is just some configuration error, I previously had no problems
at all using RTeader v6.0, W2k, IE 5.5, but since (a completely clean: HD
format etc.) install of XP and re-install of Reader v6.0, I have had this
problem.
Reader will open pdf files on my computer, just not those on the web.
I hope I've given you enough detail to help me,
Thanks
Jim
Incidentally, I have been to the support area on the Adobe site and have
followed the instructions on the page:
Configure Internet Explorer or AOL to display PDF files (Acrobat 5.0-6.0 and
Adobe Reader 5.0-6.0 on Windows)
One of the suggestions on that page is to save a pdf file onto the HD.
I have followed those directions and can't do that, either.
I get an error message saying that:
"Internet Explorer cannot download (the name of the file) from (site
address).
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found."
This happens with every pdf file that I try to go to.
Thanks
Jim
