ADOBE ACROBAT WINDOWS 57 ACROBAT READER CAN T START DUE TO AN ERROR

Subject: acrobat reader can't start due to an error

When i try to start acrobat reader 6.0.1 on winxp sp1 eng, i get the error message "can not initialise fontservermodule".

I tried uninstalling rebooting installing again but still i get this error message.

There are no other adobe programs installed on the machine.

can someone please help me.
