The acrobat documentation says that you can highlight text with the text selection tool and right click to "add bookmark" and a new bookmark with the highlighted text will be created. I can't get this to work in my environment XP home edition with Office Professional.

Which doesn't work? Selecting the text, or creating the bookmark? Also, which version of Acrobat are you using - Professional or Standard.

Selecting text is fine. The book mark is not created containing the text. We have the Standard edition. Thanks

It worked on mine, though I am using "Pro", not Standard (and am on a Windows NT machine). When you right click, is the option to create a bookmark there & it just fails to work? Are there any error messages?

It works for me also, and as with Frater I'm using 6.01 Professional.

When I right click I have no option to add or create a bookmark whether the right click is on the document page or the bookmark pane??

A question that we should maybe have asked earlier... is it possible that the document has security on it which disallows the addition of bookmarks. IF there is security on the file, there should be a gold "Key"/"Lock" icon at the bottom of the screen, I think.

No security. This feature worked for us in 5.0. I can work around with copy and paste but it is annoying when the function is supposed to be there.

Dave, just to make sure you you are using the Select Text tool and not the Touchup Text tool?

You would not get this option if you use the Touchup Text tool.

If you are using the Select Text Tool then what options do you have when you right-click on the text you have selected?

Thank you all. I was using touchup. The Icons look very similar. My mistake. Thanks again.
