ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS 26 AE 5 5 CRASHING IN WINDOWS

I am having allot of crashing problems with AE 5.5 in Windows XP. I am running a Duron 1ghz processor with 768 mb of RAM. It almost always crashes during the second render. The first one usually goes fine but any second render crashes the app. It doesn't seem to be tied to any file format or compressor. Occasionaly I get a crash during normal operation of the app as well but its not consistent.


Does anyone have any ideas I could try to make it more stable?
