yeah, this isn't the hardware forums, but people here know stuff mere mortals don't...


My relatively new tdk cd-rw drive reads all pre-fab cd's just fine, but when I put in anything that's on a cd-r, even a blank, it just spins and spits it out a minute later. WHY?!??! Why's it gotta go and do this right when I'm backing stuff up?!?! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive, cleaning & defragmenting hardrive, etc etc...something obvious?

Does "relatively new" mean its still under warranty? Can you take it back to the store you bought it?
