Does anyone was thinking about an AMD cpu ? Really, i was interested to the matter of getting a laptop for AE and keep training in 3d stuffs with Maya and Softimage, but most of the time i hear about Pentium cpu on them, just wondering why wouldn't be good an XP laptop.

I have a new Toshiba 1955 S-805 and it seems good so far, except that I would like to view the previews on the 1394 out. It works well in Vegas, but no 1394 device shows up under edit/preferences/video preview.

Should this work on this laptop?

I have a sony vaio laptop with an athalon and it has worked fine with after effects for the two years I've had it so far. It doesn't handle some other programs so well, but it works perfectly with after effects.
