I am using AE 5.5 with a system that has 448 MB of RAM. When I try to RAM preview a project it only previews just a small clip of it in real-time. I have the work area set right and everything. I have also tried all different resolutions and frame sizes. What is my problem? Also, I want to view my whole project in real-time before I render it to a file, can anyone tell me how to do this in After Effects. The standard preview play button only plays my project back at about 12fps instead of my 29.97 that I need. And as I said my RAM preview only real-time previews just a few seconds of video and then stops. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
If you are indeed hitting the Ram Preview button and not the Play button, a few seconds is all you can view with only 448megs of RAM. Even with 2 gigs of RAM you could only watch a minute or so of realtime video at best.
1.25 gigs of ram get me a 14 sec full sized rame preview.
