The NDA is expired, right? Can you guys let those of us on the outside know what issues have been fixed (an what issues have not)?
A few, off the top of my head, include:
•Interface updates not taking priority over rendering, i.e. painfully unresponsive interface (OS X)
•Chunky Time Marker granularity during previews (OS X)
•Spontaneous quits (OS X)
•Irritating, disruptive "Do you want to disable the expression?" message
•"Do you want to uncollapse the layer" dialog canceling the action that spawned it, even if you choose to uncollapse.
•Open Comp/timeline in same/different window unpredictability
•Inability to automatically find layers in a file without a file extension (OS X)
•Crashes when tearing off timeline/comp windows.
•Redraw glitches when arrow-key-incrementing values in the timeline window (OS X + Radeon 7000?)
•Redraw glitches when displaying waveforms and rapidly zooming in/out of timeline
I'm sure I can come up with more questions as I am reminded of issues during the course of the working day, but I'd really like to hear if this upgrade will be what I hope it will be.
Are those documented bugs by Adobe? I have't had any of the crashes or redraw problems like you describe. AE 5.5.1 under 10.2.x has been a great experience for me.
I'd spill my guts - but I was testing mostly on WinXP.
Performed great for me tho - except for some 3rd party plugins which are now already updated (like shine etc. for example)
I just must say one thing... TEXT
it's beautiful, FINALLY. :-D
