Hi. Help.

I'm not sure if this should be posted in the Photshop forum or the After Effects Forum or elsewhere.

I want to make a cartoon with Photoshop and After Effects. The finished Quicktime movies will be edited in Final Cut Pro, at 720 x 480.

When I make an image in Photoshop, it has to be 720 x 534, then I have to resize the image to 720 x 480. It looks "squished" in Photoshop, but once loaded into Final Cut Pro, it looks just fine.

If I make animations in After Effects (with backgrounds made from Photoshop), should they be 720 x 480 or 720 x 534? Is there a formula to follow?

Best,
Mike

Don't do the squishing in Photoshop. Before you render in AE, drop your finished square pixel comp into a D1 720x480 comp, then render it. AE will do the squishing for you!

I'll just post this for Rick g.

Read this article about pixel aspect ratios.

It should set you straight.
