I've just started trying to learn InDesign. I have a photo in a project that I want the right side to blend into a solid color. I've tried to create a box over the right edge and create a gradient. Directions say to make the first color stop transparent to use "paper" as the color then set the color for the other stop. I only get a white to color gradient. How do I get a transparent to color gradient that will just allow the color to sort of blend from the right side of my photo into a solid color. I intend to place text on the color portion of the whole thing. Will the gradient idea work or is there some other terminology for this that I should be using. I've used Microsoft Publisher for years and work totally in that mindset. I've lots to learn. Your help is appreciated. Be Blessed

Set the gradient to multiply. But to be perfectly honest, this task is best accomplished in Photoshop.
