I'm getting ready to make a recommendation to our management to upgrade from PageMaker to InDesign. While we use PageMaker 7.0, one of our companies already uses Quark, and there's some pressure for our location to just go to Quark so that we'll all use the same program. Will InDesign open or convert files from Quark as well as from PageMaker? That would be a great selling point for me (I REALLY don't want to use Quark!).
Quark 4.x and 3.x files can be converted fairly easily. But like PM
files, it's a one way street.
Bob
Sarah,
if they already use quark, how do you co-operate?
thanks
George

Why doesn't the other location switch to InDesign as well?
George - we don't cooperate! :) It's the worst workflow you can imagine. They create files in Quart in CA, FedEx the disk to me which I then give to a service provider, approve proofs, etc. It's awful.
Robert - I'm working on that. But since all their archives and files are in Quark, they don't see any value in changing.
