This sounds exactly like what I'm facing with PSE 1.0 (I think that's the version). I believe I've tried everything mentioned so far, but installation continues to apparently shut down a few seconds after I agree to the licensing agreement. I get as far as the opening graphic and the blue progress bar reaching 100% in the lower right of the screen, then the CD stops spinning and nothing further seems to happen. Am I just not waiting long enough or is there something else I could try to fix this problem?

The CD should be good -- I installed PSE fine from it to my old laptop when I first got the software about a year or so ago. I am now using a Dell Dimension XPS B866 and the hard drive has plenty of room (it's 3/4 empty).

Anyone have any suggestions? Will post additional info if needed.

I should add that I used to have PS LE, which came bundled with my Canon G3 camera. I needed more features and remembered I had PSE. I thought I completely removed all traces of LE. Could there be remnants of it somewhere that's interfering with the installation of PSE?

Mike, I have PSE1 and PS LE installed (along with PSE2 and PS7) and they don't interfere with each other at all. Do you have Norton Anti-Virus on your system? If so, disconnect from the 'Net, turn off Norton and try again. NAV has been known to prevent installation of PSE...

Mike,

Can you give us some system info?
