Hi,

I received Adobe Photoshop Elements with the standard software load of my Sony VAIO Digital Studio Computer. However, I cannot use it, because the registration card was not provided.

I sent email to the techdocs@no-spam and it bounced.

Hopefully, someone has a workaround or solution. I ended up deleting it in the hopes that the Sony Application Backup would not require the registration number, but .... it did.

So, I have a completely useless piece of software.

Any solutions?? I can provide proof of purchase.

Thanks in advance.

John

Unfortunately, Adobe doesn't provide support for bundled versions, John. You will need to contact Sony to get the serial number.

how to transfer Elements to new computer
Gail Fleagle - 06:26pm Jun 19, 2003 Pacific
Received Elements with a new Epson Scanner and installed it.

Bought a new iMAc a month later and attempted to install Elements on the new machine. I have the cd but no longer have the ser# that was on the sleeve. All but the last 4 digits appear at thestartup of the application on the old computer. How can I use ethernet file sharing to port the appl and all its plugins, execs when I move my files from the old machine?

Bob,

Last time I checked, that serial number was missing four digits (the four last ones) when compared with what's on my CD jevel case. However, I have a full commercial version (boxed).

Unless I'm mistaken...

Correct, last 4 digits don't show.

Serial number for Elements can be found in the registry, however:

-- Photoshop Elements 2.0:
Hkey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall/Ad obe Photoshop Elements 2.0
-- Photoshop Elements 1.0: Hkey_Local_Machine/Software/Adobe/Photoshop Elements/1.0/Registration key for Photoshop Elements 1.0

Look in Serial field in both cases

But, I thought he hadn't installed it at all, ever?

Oh, sorry, Mac, and John. I thought it had come preinstalled as part of the bundle.

Oh, maybe it did...
Unclear, really and I've deleted the thread (newsreader).
