my first time using clone stamp. followed all the instructions in the tutorial but when i drag to the spot i want to overlay, nothing happens. alt/click then drag but i don't get any clone!

Don't drag.
Alt/click to sample Click to apply
Main option up top is "aligned" (which is probably most used ON)

Opacity is important too. Change all the options and just fool around with them, undo and practise more... (Option_click on Mac, to sample what you want to clone.) Re-sample all the time, be sure to look for the + where you are making the clone sample from.


Keep trying and changing and practising, that's what I do when I am not sure about something, I am learning, just keep playing and undoing,,,,,

Check if inadvertently working on wrong layer, or trying to do clone outside of a selection. Either could cause it & are confusing (at least for me).

clicking rather than dragging works OK was thrown off by the tutorial " 8 Drag to paint with the tool" clicking works, thank you
