Yeah, I am in danger of getting my feet wet and not being able to go to the
beach:( How do you think I like not being at the beach for 4 days?)
Florida homes built in recent years are built well above the ground level.
I am 5 or 6 feet above the crown of the road. So even if this should
continue and flooding get right to my street there would still be no danger.
(Well,... never say never as the saying goes).
I believe that the big problem is the eastern part of this sprawling city.
That part of the city has gotten over 16 inches of rain in the past two days
and a lot of them have been evacuated. The whole city is about 40 miles
wide by almost 40 miles tall. It has canal systems to drain "some" water
(to the river and then to the Gulf of Mexico) but mainly to "level" the
water over the entire city thereby not flooding the people down river and
letting excess water out a little at a time. They will get it adjusted in
the next few days I think. (hope). If not and it gets worse there will be
boats going by and I will catch a ride:)
