Conventional color photographs are CMY. It's always seemed to me (just from printing and observing them; nothing scientific) that they are able to produce good blacks by having the yellow dye be slighly red. The problem is that this makes it very hard to get a nice vibrant green (Y + C).

I find this interesting. Being someone who knows very little about inks and dyes, can someone explain how one color could take longer to dry than another color?
