here some tidbit of useless info.. my bother was the person who designed the
pressurised coolant reservoir that is found on ford falcons since the EB (or
was it the EB II) he was given the task whilst working as a contract
draftsman ... he based the design on a egg carton... (and no he does not
know how to clean them out, I already asked him)
His other claim to fame is he drew up the final design for the moulds of the
Commonwealth bank signs .. you know the ones that are supposed to represent
the "Southern Cross"

Was it his idea to place it over the top of a bank of fuses? lol

Is that the "design" the bank paid 15 mil for?

Yup that is the one.. he says that the guys that cam up with design were
some arty fartys that have no idea about nothing . He just had to do the
"Blue Prints" for the moulds and stuff for the machines that make the
signs.. he had to do so many re-works it was not funny as they kept on
changing their minds...
He has also worked for PBR and the stories that he told me about that
place....
One was that they bring in some of the latest sports cars from overseas to
do development work on the break systems... when they are finished with them
they send them off to the crusher as they were brought in under condition
that they either get sent back or they are destroyed. And it is cheaper to
crush them .. He said he almost cried one day when they crushed a brand new
Vet....with less than 100 on the clock ..
So now we also know why Ford left all that casting sand in the
I6 blocks: self cleaning coolant recovery tanks!

Out of interest, why was that design adopted? Does it have something to do
with droplets being "dripped" back down into the bottle or something?
G!
The Com bank sign...loooks more like Victoria upside down....A flag upside
down indicates distress which it was at the time, when the State Bank went
under :)
So why does the header tank not have a non pressurised reservoir so all that
flows from the pressurised one can be kept instead of being lost? I find
myself having to fill up every month.

Well there is something wrong there.... either your radiator cap is stuffed
and not holding or you have a leak someplace or even worse ....
The only time my EBII needed to be topped up is when one of the hoses went
tits up and so far I have not had my AU III Fairmont long enough to notice
anything....
