MacroVision is copy-protection. It adjusts the brightness/contrast etc
so a VCR has trouble recording it properly.
I've not heard of a SCART connector causing this problem; when you say
"straight into", does your DVD player come with a SCART output or is
there a convertor in there somewhere?
