***SOLD***

People, you really should stop speculating about these things ;-)

I purchased the DVD from a readily accessible online web site as an 'Academy Screener' in good faith, however, although it appears to be a pressed DVD and not a DVD-R, the presence of 'funny Engrish' subtitles and the fact it is letterbox and not anamorphic seems to indicate it is a (possibly modified) copy of the Academy Screener and not an original Academy Screener: hence my identification of the item as 'DVD silver'.

I only purchased the one copy and, now I have finished with it, I'm selling it as a 2nd hand item (used): this is not a business where I'm copying the original Academy Screener to DVD-Rs and selling them.

Methinks the studios are missing a marketing opportunity by not selling the genuine Academy Screeners to the public at a reasonable price. Since they are watermarked with that 'for your consideration' message and potentially not exactly identical to the theatrical release, I expect those who would purchase the Screeners would also purchase the official DVDs when they are released later. The fact that Academy Screeners are released to a select few individuals, just encourages copying IMO, when there most obviously is a demand.

Ian
