No, I don't really agree. "Fasgnadh" has made it abundently clear that he is OBSESSED with "Nazis". No-one else here in the land Down Under is, but "Fasgnadh" is. He is absolutely obsessed! I suspect he has little model WW2
German aeroplanes and tanks all around his bedroom.

Personally, I suppose that "Fasgnadh" is a very old man. An ancient old man,
really, when you think about how long ago WW2 was.

The act-True-Blue ng should be all about the great achievements that True-Blues have achieved in the most inhospitable climate and continent that we have ever faced. We have done reasonably well, and we have every right to celebrate.

Stupidly, however, whenever we attempt to celebrate our achievements, up pops the poor ole' "Fasgnagh" with his whingeing mid-20th century put-downs of the Aussie boys and girls who fought against the Germans and Japs as being ... wait for it! ... "Nazis"!

He just hasn't got a clue!

As I said, this racist is more honest in his bigotry than his crony mates,
Ned, Nev and the other Taliban rednecks. Same racism as them, he's just more overt about it.

Ned has of course made clear his opinion that ancient Sparta,
with it's slavery and denial of the vote to women is his preferred system. He is actually Pre-fascist, ..not progressive enough to be a Nazi, as they gave their women the vote! B^p ....

> The act-True-Blue ng should be all about the great achievements that > True-Blues have achieved in the most inhospitable climate and continent that > we have ever faced.

That doesn't make sense.. the Hunter valley, Gippsland, Rainbow country,
they are all pretty sweet and hospitable places to live.. or, at least, we fair dinkum true-blues enjoy living here, even if some of you pretenders have never felt at home in the Wide Brown Land. B^p
To the Southwest of Victoria the land was so lush, so rich, the tribes settled and lived off the bounty.. this country has never seemed 'inhospitable' to those that know and love it.

Burke and Wills died of stupidity, surrounded by tucker.

This land has been MADE inhospitable by people so miserable in spirit they put refugee children in razor wire gulags.

> We have done reasonably well,

You are clearly a desperate hate filled racist loser who couldn't find his arse with both hands. Nothing about your small-minded mean-spirited posts suggests someone who has 'done well',
you reek of the jealous bile of the n'er do well.

So says the moron can't read attribution lines reliably; doesn't know the difference between an integer and an interval; can't distinguish set notation from textual quotation; doesn't know it when his time stamps define the time zone they refer to;
can't work out systematic time notation anyway; thinks "dollar"

You wouldn't know sense if you fell over it. Apart from Antarctica,
Australia is the most inhospitable continent on the planet.

Which bit of Australia is "To the Southwest of Victoria", you drip?
Kerguelan Island is in that direction, of course, but it's a French territory.

No, you're the "hate-filled racist loser" - full of hatred against the people who made this nation a magnet for migrants from all over the world!
You don't even know anything about Australian geography or history! Tell us,
"F", how did "the tribes" (whatever they might be in your fevered imagination) "settle and live off the bounty" of Kerguelan Island?

I don't agree, mate.

I believe in the main leftie policies of traditional Australia, including the White Australia Policy. We had some great leftie political leaders, like Fisher, Scullin, Curtin, Calwell, and even Whitlam (if you undemonise him and look at what he really achieved). These heroes all believed in the White Australia Policy. Even the abrasive Whitlam was hostile to Vietnamese "refugees".

But on the other hand, it has been the political representatives of big business, which presumably you might call right-wing, that have been trying to undermine our hard-earned standards with cheap Asian labour since pre-Federation times.

Just read Henry Lawson!

But he's just as STUPID as the other racists, trying to tell us a land supporting nearly 20 MILLION people in world class comfort, with abundant food, cars, TV's, surfboards and BBQ's is 'inhospitable'! B^D

Aussies have faced Antartica, it's a lot less hospitable than the Hunter Valley! B^D
Why do pretend aussies and recent boat arrivals like 'SomeoneNew-to-Oz'
insist on demonstrating their ignorance about this land, while simultaneously demanding others have less rights than they do to be here! B^p > >

You meet a lot of faux true-blues like Ned, Nev and Somone-New-to-the-country in Usenet, but this one takes the cake.. HE DOESN'T EVEn KNOW WHERE THE SOUTH EAST OF VICTORIA IS! 8^o B^D

Well lets see, you poor newbie twat, to the NORTH WEST of Victoria we find the Mallee Wimmera, little desert country... to the east we find Gippsland and Lakes Entrance, to the South West; the Otways, the Great Ocean Road, and the lush lands you show yourself to be completely ignorant of, where indigenous tribes settled, built houses and lived better than you do, you poor ignorant and frightened racist stooge. ;-)

It's to the Southwest of the landmass, you dill, you could refer to it as OFF Victoria.. but not "OF VICTORIA!" B^D
I suppose it is the job of us true-blues to help you newbie twonks find your way around this land you find so strange, and which sems so inhospitable to you! B^p

Or part of a state, even with a map!

I just hope no one sends him to visit the "Southeast of Victoria".. because the complete fuckwit will end up in the Southern Ocean!

Oh, I see. You were trying to talk about some place "IN the Southwest of Victoria", rather than "TO the Southwest of Victoria" as you stated - but your command of the English language clearly wasn't up to expressing your intention. I suggest that you take lessons in the lingo before you try to make any statement of any kind.

Ignorant fool!

Looks like Someone-New-To-Oz has given up on his original stupidity and is pursuing his latest stupidity! B^)
First he thinks Oz is inhospitable, when we are the most hospitable people on the planet, unless you are a refugee..

Right 'direction' you moron but I clearly said the southwest OF Victoria, not OFF the southwest of Victoria.. can't you even read you moronic cretin!? B^D B^D

Hardly likely to be part 'OF Victoria' then is it you poor malfunctioning dickwad! B^D

Well it sure took you long enough!
In future if you want to indicate an Island in the Southern Ocean you can say "off the Southwest Coast" "Off to Victorian Coast" but not "the Southwest OF Victoria" !!!!

OF is a preposition indicating (in this context), direction.

OFF is an adverb indicating 'away from' or 'at a distance from'
or in your case it refers to your whole appearance and demeanour!
B^D
If I send you to the southeast corner OF MY HOUSE, I can only hope that you will not go to the living room, but out OFF my property and ON the road, putting yourself, your poor parents and the rest of your long suffering acquaintenances out of their misery!
You were trying to talk about some place "to the Southwest OFF Victoria", rather than "to the Southwest OF Victoria" which was clear to any one who knows the language better than your rudimentary mangling of it.

Someone-New-to-Australia was once sent to the Southeast of Queensland and they found him in Adelaide. To this day if you ask him what you find if you go 'to the Southeast of Queensland', he replies 'Lake Eyre'! B^D
BWAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!
No wonder you find our land 'inhospitable', you clearly can't navigate around it, let alone find your arse with both hands.

Go back to Seth Effrikkka with your boyfriend Axel Van Kampergrease.

You said, "To the Southwest of Victoria". The operative word was "To" - as distinct from "In". "In" suggests Portland, Heywood, Warrnambool and Hamilton. But "To" suggests some place off the coast. (Maybe you meant Lawrence Rocks?)

If you had been born here, you would have known that we Aussies refer to the southwest of Victoria as "the Western Districts". Clearly you are not a native Aussie or a native speaker of English.

If you had just made that clear from the beginning I wouldn't have "knocked"
you.

I am sure that your command of English is infinitely better than my knowledge of whatever language you grew up speaking. Good luck to you on that account! I can't speak a word of Yiddish (or whatever your native language might be), and quite frankly I don't have the inclination or the time to learn it. Even so, I think it's rather touching that you are trying to learn English. Goodonya!

On behalf of everyone who has ever read some of your many posts, I wish you success in your efforts to learn to speak English and to try to become an acceptable New Australian. Just remember, though, that we Australians refer nowadays to the southwest bits of Victoria that Major Mitchell named "Australia Felix" as "the Western Districts".

They are not "To" the Southwest of Victoria. They are "In" the Southwest of Victoria, and (just to help you through a bit of repetition) we Australians refer to them as "the Western Districts".

I hope this helps.

Oh, Fasgnadh, Fasgnadh ...

I made a genuine offer to help you understand the nuances of our Aussie culture and our Aussie version of the English language. I understand how hard it must be for people like you, coming from a NESB background, to try to feel comfy in your new national home. If you had lived nearby, mate, I'd have invited you to our next family barbie, in an effort to help you integrate. It would have been really pleasant for you - you could have met lots of real Aussies and got a bit of a handle on our culture in a non-threatening environment. I could even have teed up a bloke from the Western Districts who would have been able to fill you in on Australian geography.

But it's starting to look like you don't want to be helped into becoming a nice "New Australian". When people offer to help you, let's face it, cobber,
you tend to become abusive.

Now really, is that any way to live your life? I mean, if your sojourn (that means "temporary stay", FYI) in our wide brown land isn't really to your liking, perhaps you might be happier just going back to your (no doubt colourful) homeland. That wouldn't be so much of a hardship, really, would it? I'm sure they must have wonderful ethnic dances and costumes, and really exotic foods.

If you decide to go back home, please keep us advised. We Aussies wish you well, even though your stay here didn't quite work out, and we'd love to hear that you're doing well back home. And if you want any updates on your Aussie pension, don't hesitate to give us a call!

At roughly comparable levels of "comfort":

The USA is about 1.2 times the size of Australia, and supports over twenty times the population;

Europe is about 1.3 times tha size of Australia and supports over thirty five times the population.

At lower levels of "comfort":

China is about 1.2 times the size of Australia, and supports over fifty times the population;

India's about 0.4 times the size of Australia and supports nearly fifty times the population;

Indonesia's about 0.24 times the size of Australia and supports over five times the population.

And at that, Australia'a overpopulated. Our water resources are so stretched that we have water restrictions in parts of the country right now (in winter!), and our salination problems have been getting worse for decades.

Seems pretty clear to Aussies who actually DO know and love this country. 20, 000,000 people find it so hospitable we live here with one of the longest life expectancies on the planet,
plentiful food, world class accomodation, democratic government,
beer, TV, two cars in the garage, enough free time for even totally useless fuckwits like Ned and Someone-new-to-the-Country to spend half their life on Usenet demonstrating their iggerance! B^D

Umm ...

Try again, "F", if you don't mind.

I can see that what you wrote above is not native English, and I'm really always willing to walk that extra mile to help NESBs like you assimilate -
after all, we Aussies are very hospitable.

But it would seem that you have typed up a statement in your native language (say, Yiddish?); and then fed it through one of those computer translation systems that don't really work. (Well, at least in your case it didn't really work, as the sample "translation" above clearly shows!)

But I have a really good idea. Why don't you go to the nice Aussie couple who probably live just down the road from you, and ask them (preferably politely) to help you express your thoughts in the English language? I'm sure they'd do their best to try to help you, possum!

BTW, everyone can see you have completely abandoned all effort at rational debate, being unable to support any of your baseless assertions.

Gee. So, now biological differences and DNA differences dictate who predominates the schools, colleges and universities? Nice set up, there.

USA, proficiency scores Reading, 17 year olds Writing, 11th grade Year Male Female Year Male Female 1979-80 282 289 1983-84 281 299
1987-88 286 294 1987-88 282 299
1998-99 282 295 1995-96 275 292
pulling away huge gap The difference in writing scores is about the same as reported between whites and blacks.

Guess that makes males the nigger gender ... according to you.

Now to back to your plantation and finish your work ... boy. Because you're only a male.

WHOOPSIE! That's wasn't Politically Correct.

Surely it can't be those pesky little DNA differences. Gee, must be something ENVIRONMENTAL or CULTURAL.

No. It's not even an American phenomenon, in the first place.
It's everywhere, from Australia to Russia to Kuwait to the US to St. Lucia and elsewhere.

It's only the tip of the iceberg ... a VERY BIG iceberg...

Reading: Girls performed better in reading in all 31 nations that submitted results for that area, all differences statistically significant.
Math: No statistical difference in 17 of the 31 countries, including the US.
Major gaps favoring males in Austria, Korea and Brazil.
Science: The girls did better in the US, but not statistically significant.
The girls did better at significant levels in Latvia and New Zealand.
The boys did better in Austria, Denmark and Korea. Everywhere else was

Comments by Tom Mortenson, Senior Scholar,
The Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education (personal communication)
"I too have come to appreciate the global scale of the gender issue."
"I [...] fear for the future of men. The world is changing in many ways that have no particular use for male advantages. [...] In the education data I study, far too many boys are arriving at college age confused, depressed and directionless."
"I have recently assembled data on suicide by gender for those 15 to 24
years old over the last 100 years. The problems boys are having compared to girls really begin to appear about 1930 in these data. Up to that point young males were about 1.5 times as likely to kill themselves compared to young females. Then the suicide ratio began to grow and is now 5.5 to 6 times greater for males than it is for females."

That's pretty much past tense and was mostly an American quirk.

The AAUW's was exposed as "the empress has no clothes" starting back in the late 20th century (late 1990's), once the media finally started reporting on the long-present female/male disparity in education.

This group, and numerous other organized (American) interests (such as NOW) have in their best interest to maintain the notion of the woman as victim and women as underclass, or else a good part of their very reason to exist will be gone. So you might say they're looking for issues or probelms and will fabricate one (by faking research data), if none is to be found.

It gives a whole new meaning to the term Witch Hunt.

The greatest enemy to organized feminist institutions, ironically,
is any purveying (no matter how true) of the news of an already existing or growing female equality or even outright supremacy.

Oh look. The mad dog is misrepresenting the concept of "comfort"
introduced into the thread by ... er ... oh yes, the mad dog.

Obviously the mad dog's ranting about himself again. The fact is,
we know (but apparently he does not know) that this, the second most inhospitable continent on the planet, was made liveable for such a large population at such high levels of comfort by human effort, all of which was exerted in the 180-odd years following the arrival of the First Fleet, and by the people he now spends his "life" trying to denigrate and defame.
