Is it true that when property booms shares slump and vice versa, or is this simply not true?

Generally in a property boom (or the lead up to one) money moves from the stockmarket to property. In a market rally, money moves back the other way.
They usually happen at oppsoing times, like when property is on the rise -
the market is bearish (as in the past few years) and when the market rallies - property prices usually plateau or fall in comparison to infalation (like whats starting to hapen now and will continue for the next few years)

The above is a generalisation.

By the way, does anyone know how i can start an 'aus.invest.property'
newsgroup? Im keen on property investinbg and would like to see a separate group.

The process is described here: http://aus.news-admin.org/

However, I think demand may be too small to justify a group for just property investment.

There are basically only three areas of investment, property, money and shares.
When one is up, another is in the middle and the other down.
As one investment becomes more attractive investors move funds into that area and out of other two.
