Weird call.

Heard Sarah King and Kim Blair this morning. No Dwayne Jeffries. Nothing was mentioned in the half hour (roughly) between 6.30 and 7am as to why Kim was on (and sounding excellent btw).

Curious, I rang reception after 9am and asked "where was Dwayne". She didn't know so placed me on hold. After about a minute she comes back and says "I don't know and they won't tell me".

Sorry? An' again.

"They said you should have been listening to the radio this morning and you would have heard".

Well I was, and no I didn't. Is that the way to treat a listener?

Was he crook, gone on leave (though Tuesday is an odd day to begin hols), been promoted within the group or, given what's about to happen in the market soon, has DMG had a chat with him and suddenly he is persona non-grata on HP Drive?

If he was ill, why wouldn't "they" tell the receptionist?

With disreguard for listener enquiries like that, if I was 2GO, I'd be worried about DMG coming in too.

Oh yes, 2GO should worry about an impending competitor, but Kim, sounding good? very country, but then I guess GO is a country station isn't it?

If country means natural, so be it.

Country = natural, oh, don't know about that, perhaps the word I should have used was inexperienced.

I don't know him, his history nor until yesterday had I ever heard him before. For a first time listen, he sounded natural, and comfortable, in that role. Short lived as Jeffries was there today. As for inexperienced,
how long is a piece of string?
