So how many people in this forum are going to be forking out the $156 a year from next week?

I agree that they perhaps should charge a fee to help cover the cost's of maintaining the web site, but I think $156 is way over the top.

How many radio stations will pay this amount just so that the jocks can use it? Then for each staff member who wants access it's an extra $20 each.

Sorry Radiowise but I think you made a big blunder.

No way I will, seems just a grab for more money from us underpaid, overworked jocks

I know it's wrong to doubt Radiowise's efforts to be on the pulse of this great industry, but did they miss a couple of critical points over the past decade?

1. Where did they get this idea that you can make a fortune from people paying for an internet service? Even Amazon is struggling...

2. Who came up with the brilliant idea of hitting on obviously exploding radio workforce numbers? Which network of stations has staff numbers on the increase? Radiodumb tell us: "...the station buys one full subscription then staff can have a discount subscription for just $20 each..." WHAT STAFF??!!Most regional/country stations have become sales offices. Their "staff" are now asking "would you like fries with that?"

That's about it, I could afford the $25 but I don,t see the boss forking out for the rest. So how about it Radio Wise, offer individual subscriptions and you would get a better response. It is a good site for reference etc

The things radioinfo needs before I start paying for it.

1) Exclusive news. News they actually report themselves, several stories a day... Copy pasting from other sources doesn't count
2) A maintained list of Australian radio stations and their contact details. Yeah, this is available in that big book we get once a year (or via their web site) but with most stations opting for the book option. it's out of date pretty quickly. Perhaps radioinfo could team up with the mob that make the big book. Andy Grace had a directory going a while back... is that still around?

3) More editorial comment
4) More educational resources. The news doctor articles are interesting but get updated once a month if you're lucky. Are the selector tips still there? I can't see them.

5) A decent forum system with text big enough to read
6) A POINT OF DIFFERENCE. Jobs are on jocks journal, news is in the Green guide or in SMH, the forum is aus.radio.broadcast, and austereo publishes more detailed survey results (broken down by shift etc)

I fail to see why anyone would pay for this, when there's so little inherent value?

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't radioUNwise say the news would still be free? Or was it HEADLINES ?
Keeps bouncing me out.
My webpage has mainly Melbourne based snippets that are essentially emailed or picked up on the the loop, then written by myself(explains the apalling spelling) but never from them because normally they are a day behind when a big radio story breaks rarely do they write the news,
they copy it!!!!!
does that mean in 2 or 3 years I can charge visitors a quid or 7, I think not.
