ABC 702 in Stereo or not? and..is 92.5?

When I lived there last year it was on for a while then disappeared with
just the NewsRadio one remaining.
Interesting to know the decision process, why not Radio National as well
if Gosford needs the extra coverage?
Coverage from the relay was poor, even down into West Gosford and
Kariong Hill in the car. Will be back for a visit on Saturday so if I
think about it will check it out.

Have you noticed that the power has been turned down since it began
broadcasting? I now find it loses reception moreso than 702. Even in the
centre of Gosford i have found that 92.5 will drop out yet 702 is fine
albeit full of static.

What's the reception of the Newcastle stations like in Gosford?

Both these ABC Central Coast transmitters are very low power (200 watts
only) and are designed to cover black spots around Gosford and Woy Woy that
cannot pick up Sydney or Newcastle AM very well. At Woy Woy, I cannot get
2BL 702 successfully at night. At least with FM, one can extend the antenna
to improve reception of low power signals.
The ABA site lists the stations incorrectly. It shows 2PNN as 92.5 and 2Bl
as 98.1.
Now if only the ABC would fix their digital TV SFN network on the Central
Coast.

Where I lived just north of Gosford (Narara) last year, depending on
which side of the house sometimes JJJ Newcastle was better than Sydney,
but we were on a ridge with a good view both north & south. The AM
Newcastle stations were abit scratchy for regular listening though, not
nearly as good as Sydney.
