Blah, read my post, I never commented on whether or not the price was too
high, or that I would buy the house. I merely commented that no one has to
buy a house for any price anywhere if they don't think it's a good deal.
Where did you get your info about the price being $140k?

I'd say it's a little over-priced but I would never list a home without
leaving some room for negotiation. Most people don't show up with checkbook
in hand and pay you exactly what you are asking for a house. It is very
smart to leave some room for negotiation. On the paint job, the last house I
sold had a wild paint job going and the realtors hated it but I insisted on
not painting everything boring-ass white and the house sold for very close
to the asking price (exactly what I wanted, but less than what I asked for)
on the first open house, four days after being listed. On ceiling fans, it
is a total waste of time to try to accomodate someone elses taste in
fixtures, so the cheaper the better if you put them in to try to help sell
the house. The biggest tragedy would be to drop a few grand putting top of
the line stuff in only to see it in austin.forsale for a fraction of what
you paid for it a week after the new owners move in and put their own idea
of nice fans in.
Throw in the 'vette and the price is juuust right. :)

Im a little jealous i guess. i like living here on the water in vinyard bay
but i wish i was closer into town. its b oring here and the neighbors are
stuck up. my dad says when i finish high school i can move where ever i
want.

its a buyers market and the more sellers than ever are all competing for a
finite amount of dollars in an allready flooded market. if it was my house
id spend the several hundred dollars necesary to stage the home in its best
possible light. id be easy to buy from and an easy choice to make. in this
market how wise is it to expect a potential buyer to have to use their
imagination.

2 quorts of white enamel latex could cover those hidious trumpe l'oiel
flowers. a couple of day laborers could spray a coat over that wall paper

im not so insecure that i need to spend that much money just for a zip code.
there are plenty of places in that price range where you can get three times
the house. and the back dosent look exactly like a trailer home. heh. all it
needs is a couple of propane tanks.
