He bought the triple top secret prototype before the prototype sample from Sansui's engineering guru in 1970, then in 1972.......he hocked it for hooter money. Two years later, Sansui released it to the rest of the 8 track lovin public.

Hmmm...well, as long as we're on the subject, I've got a Sansui G9700 that's doing nothing.

It's in truly excellent condition, having been professionally cleaned and aligned. This is one of those VERY heavy suckers (the back is nothing but heat sinks, with all connectors on either side.

First $300 takes it, only because I don't need it. Available here in Austin.

I thought about that, but decided against it because I really, REALLY don't want to ship it. If it was broken in transit (expected these days) I would be really, REALLY ticked off. This is a very, very nice piece.

Unlike most folks, I usually hang on to the original shipping boxes. Last spring, I sold two SP-2500 Sansui speakers and shipped 'em in their original double boxed packaging. Unfortunately, most outlets discard the outer shipping box and all you see is the inner which affords less protection.

I do think that the original packaging even if single still would be adequate for domestic shipping and of course insurance is mandatory. I never had a complaint and a tip for shipping economy, FedEx Ground. Cheaper, faster, than UPS and they handle the cargo much more carefully.
