What you're wanting will be fairly straightforward for a machine shop to make,
but it'll be pretty pricey.
Have you considered smoked plex or lexan? It's easily worked, and makes a nice
finished product with no special tools.
Since I haven't seen the system, I'm just tossing out possiblities for you. One
of the show cars we built when I was managing one of the Audio Advice stores
included 1/4" aluminum plates behind the speakers that we had to have made.
Those plates cost a small fortune since they have to be machined out of a solid
block of that gauge, and aluminum that thick isn't cheap. 3/8" is even more
pricey.
I called around to several machine shops and, on a whim, a gunsmith. The
gunsmith was much cheaper, and did an awesome job. He's since retired, but it's
another avenue for you to explore. You might also check with some of the custom
motorcycle builders in town.
