Hello:
While on my latest Job search, I created a custom Web page for my
private use listing all known Job Search Sites. From this basic page, I
have moved on to create a complete web site named: Job-O-Magic
(www.jobomagic.com)!
News Update:
Once again, I hit my 100+ site quota for the week. I'm getting my
Job-O-Magic Lite application fairly optimized now so I can speed through
the hundreds of sites I current have to add. I should be done adding
all new sites by the end of this next week if not sooner. I was
guessing that I would have collected around 1,700 sites, but it looks as
if I may only get around 1,500.
For those that may have been getting a bit of information overload from
my list, I added two options that allow you to list links without the
descriptions. I as well brought back my old basic link listing showing
only the site name and main features.
Some fun facts about the project:
I currently have two off-line databases. I created a custom application
to manage all the job sites off-line that help in my job site search.
The first database is my links database of possible sites. As of this
point that database holds 16,263 sites. Out of the 16,263 sites, I have
been to over 8,296 sites! When I find a job search site, I transfer it
to the main off-line database to recheck for possible submission to
Job-O-Magic where I collect as much information that I can about each
site. If/When I get done adding the 102 sites I have left, I'm then
going back to searching the 7,972 sites in hopes to find the EOI (End of
Internet).
And for those that may have not seen this message before, here's a
little of what Job-O-Magic offers the job seeker:
The Job Search Sites listed on Job-O-Magic itself gives you the
following information:
- If site is free for job seekers - Note: Have removed sites that are
not free
- If site is free for job postings
- Site's geographical location
- Site's Industry and category focus
- If site is a local site or offers a local site for your area
- If site offers an e-mail Job Agent
- If site allows you to submit your resume
- If site give you your own URL to posted resume
- If site offers statistics on your resume's activity
- The overall rating users have given the site
- Total number of visits a site has had from my site
- A score of 0 to 1000 graded the features the site offers
- Each site even has its' own forum for you to comment or read up on
what others have to say
And the best part about Job-O-Magic is it has no banners** or popup ads!
This is just a fun project that I'm working on and plan to keep the site
active when/if I ever find a job.
Job-O-Magic can be found at: http://www.jobomagic.com
** Ok, I added Google's AdSense. Cool Text base ads giving you great
links to other Job Search related sites.
