SUMMARY: The GM will provide leadership and strategic direction and participates in the planning and
implementation for both long and short-term business and strategic plans related to the
overall facility growth and success. The position serves to provide input to the design,
planning and construction, and liaison with the master plan and operations. The GM, in
conjunction with the Intrawest Golf VP of Operations will set the fundamental goals of the
facility and establish priorities in terms of its basic objectives, ensuring alignment with overall
Intrawest Golf Corporate objectives in the four compass points of the business, sales,
controls, people and standards. As the GM, you must lead by example by taking a
proactive position to all issues concerning resort operations.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
The GM participates in the development of the operating and administrative structure with the
Intrawest Golf Vice President of Operations and assigns and organizes major accountabilities and functions into effective and measurable units within this structure. The
GM, is ultimately responsible for the various revenue streams at the facility (i.e. golf, ski,
aquatic, food & beverage, lodging etc.).
STRATEGY:
• Participates in the formulation, interpretation, and communication of the overall
direction, long-range vision and strategic guidelines, and ensures liaison between the overall
strategic direction of Intrawest Golf with the strategic direction of the facility.

• Participates in the development and update of the five year plan for the facility.

• Participates in review of the annual business plan for the facility.
• Participates in agenda, preparation and process of Quarterly Planning Meetings.

• Participates in the ongoing planning, construction and development of the future
expansion and renovation of the facility, including the presentation of such plans to ITW Golf
and the facility partnership.
• In conjunction with the ITW Golf VP of Operations and the facility partnership,
responsible for the formulation of a comprehensive master plan for the overall development of
the facility. • The GM maintains a very close liaison with the VP of Operations and the facility
partnership to ensure that the ongoing development priorities of the facility and other real
estate (including planning, design and construction) are compatible with the future operating
goals of the facility, including public spaces, retail frontages, commercial square footage (if
applicable), access and parking.

EXTERNAL RELATIONS: • Fosters, develops and maintains effective working relationships with such external
influences on the facility’s operations as major customers, suppliers, Municipal, County,
State and Federal government officials, and investors.
• Establishes and maintains the closest possible communications and relationships with different departments of the State and Federal Government (including
USFS, Wildlife and Environment), and departments of Municipal and County Government
(including the Building, Planning, Safety, and Public Works departments)
• Fashions a favorable public image for the facility and Intrawest Golf, and an
appreciation for its plans through effective representation to customers, local communities,
County Government, in ways that enhance the facility’s public image as a sound investment
and responsible "citizen" and also facilitates understanding and support for the company's
interests and positions. • Develops and maintains excellent relationships between the facility and its consultants, contractors and others with whom it does business.

• Ensures that the facility has the number and caliber of managers/leaders required
for its business. The GM participates in the recruitment, assessment and selection of new
managers, and develops, motivates, evaluates, disciplines and rewards direct reports in order
to assure:
- a high level of managerial/leadership productivity;
- leverage the talents of individuals and groups; - management continuity and a succession plan for all managers that fulfill the
facility’s present and future management and leadership needs.
• Conducts one-on-ones with managers, covering sales, controls, people, and standards; and provides direction, coaching, and performance management.
• Establishes compensation adjustments for each direct report, and their direct
reports in accordance with the business plan.
• Ensures that all managers are being developed through overseeing management Player Ability Reviews and 360º feedback, and participates throughout the year in planning
and implementation of management/leadership development functions and events (Leaders
School etc).
• In conjunction with the Intrawest Golf Director of People ensures that Employee
Opinion Surveys are completed each year and follows up on EOS results, holding managers
accountable for action plans.
• Lead by example. Setting a benchmark of performance in areas of innovation, motivation and animation.
• Develop a strategy for recognizing valuable employees and celebrating success.

• Helps to establish both business and personal goals for direct reports. These
goals shall be organized by contributions, sales, new projects, business development,

• Maintain effective communications with all team members through Magic & Logic
sessions and other vehicles, in regards to course operation, people issues and general

• Communicate with the Vice President of Operations on a regular basis to inform
of current status of operations.

CONTROLS:
• Reviews and approves short term strategies and plans to implement such strategies, monitors performance to determine whether these strategies and plans require
adjustment to positively impact revenues and cost controls, and evaluates the progress
toward the attainment of the facility’s objectives embodied in these strategies and plans.

• Participates in the direction and supervision of the financial operations of the
facility, including the preparation and approval of annual operating budgets.
• Participates in the business plan quarterly reviews of each department's achievement toward annual business plan goals.
• Involved in the review and preparation prior to monthly proforma calls, and participates in these calls.
• Jointly responsible for the facility’s weekly financial performance together with the
ITW Golf VP of Operations – tracking, analysis and response, with focus on long-term and
short-term performance and long term cost control programs.
• Review weekly and monthly contribution reports of each operation, including f & b,
golf, aquatic, etc.
STANDARDS:
• Sets the standard and principles that determine how the facility is to conduct
business, and ensures that Intrawest Golf’s vision and values are communicated and upheld.

• Participates in certain key decisions, for example, concerning pricing, levels of
service, quality, and product design, that critically impact performance. The GM evaluates
guest feedback to ensure consistency in levels of service and follows up on written guest
complaints.
• Proactive in suggesting and debating alternative methods and procedures in solving concerns and assuring that we exceed the expectations and satisfaction of our
guests, employees and vendors.
• Perform site inspections of the facility and implement procedures to succeed in
improving site inspections scores with department managers.
• Review operational challenges and procedures of departments and encourage team members to recommend solutions.
• Proactive in developing initial and subsequent modifications of service assurance
programs to outline areas of responsibility, personnel requirements and operational
procedures according to the standards created by Intrawest Golf.
