We have a well-elaborated high-volume printing environment located on
the mainframe using the AFP(DS)-architecture. We want to open-up this
environment for output coming from the Unix and Windows-platforms.
This means that we need to get these environments producing
text-AFP(DS) with the possibility of adding some metadata (such as
listidentification or destinee) as an extra requirement.
We consider the use of IBM's AFP-driver with seperator-pages (for
metadata) for this purpose. We know that Elixir and ISIS-Papyrus have
similar solutions.
Is there anyone doing something alike and willing to share
experiences?
