I'm sure that as soon as the Snow logs onto these newsgroups and reads your
request to bugger off, that it won't be too long before the snow decides to
carry out your request to leave.
Ever thought about asking the Sun to come out while you're at it?

You live in the South Island of NZ and complain about snow? Get a grip
folks, it's winter!
Here's why people LIKE snow;

Keeps the wimps indoors too, so it can't be all bad. ;-)

And Glover Park, Wellington - according to a supporter of proposed
Council controls on vagrants - is often "knee deep in urine".
Just thought I'd pass on that charming and vaguely-related thought.
Q What's the difference between a vagrant and a migrant?
There ought to be a slightly amusing answer to that one; but I get the
impression right now that there's very little difference. "Sling the
bastards out of our fair town/ country" is a statement that would meet
with a good deal of agreement either way. (But not from me).
Maybe A: the vagrant gets in the way of moneymaking ventures (like
trying to paint ...YWOOD over ....INGTON); but the migrant makes us
all look sick by making more money than we do without seeming to try
very hard.
No, you're right; not very funny.

A migrant chooses to go from A to B, intending to stay at B. A vagrant
is someone who is homeless and wanders from A to B to C....
I was a migrant, but not a vagrant!

Which one do you want, the snow or the sun?? :-)
We have plenty of sun...we seemed to have missed Spring all together,
with the temps up in the 90's...
Young Sacha was rather excited on the phone the other night .."Nana,
it's SNOWING outside!!". I think she was hoping there would be enough
on the ground in her part of Christchurch (they're in Avonhead) to be
able to build a snowman the next morning.
Christina said that she had to laugh...people at her work were rushing
around in a mild panic, trying to figure out whether they'd be able to
get everyone too and from work using 4 wheel drive vehicles and
telling her that she couldn't possibly get the bus as she was
pregnant. As she kept trying to tell them, this was something like the
winters she's been used to for the last 8 years!!
I'm definitely going to take home some of those long handled ice
scrapers!!

The 4WD idiots here don't realise that they still go straight ahead on icy
corners and slopes just like anything else does. Overseas drivers used to
such conditions would be far more experienced.
The best thing to do in such icy conditions is to let some air out of the
tyres to give them a bigger contact area.
Sacha might get to see more snow falls before the end of November.

\Oooops, the snow!
Tired of summer already.
Thankfully we got an inch of rain on 4th July which kept the risk of
fires at bay when all the freaking townies came out to light their
fireworks.
We had another inch yesterday - and if you have lived in the southern
states, it just gets hot and steamy after rain.
We've got at least 3 days of tropical rain coming in starting
tomorrow.
The worst part is the mozzies with all their diseases.
