SENIOR SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER – Mexican and Asian Supply Bases
One of our most reputed client is on the look out for a SCM Planner
with Consumer Products Industry Background
to fill a key role within their Supply Chain Group. The Supply Chain
Planner will be working out of the corporate headquarters located in
OHIO and will be responsible for purchasing and scheduling components
from their Asian and Mexican Supply Bases.
The ideal candidate lives and breathes Supply Chain Planning,
Manufacturing, Distribution, APICS, and Planning Best Practices. This
is an incredible opportunity for dynamic individual with an intense
drive and a passion for making major improvements to systems and
processes, improving on-time delivery and inventory turns. Some travel
required.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Purchase products from our Asian and Mexican supply bases.
Prepare, review, and refine production and purchasing
schedules according to the forecast and/or MPS. Release and monitor
production orders according to the plan.
Create Purchase Orders and Production Orders for component
items supplying the production schedule
Maintain integrity within purchasing and production schedules
Maintain data integrity – ensure accuracy of item master
planning and costing information within BaaN
Lead Production Scheduling meetings with operations to ensure
execution of the plan
Establish daily, monthly, quarterly (and yearly) production
capacity plans that meet customer orders and forecast
Daily review of exception and reschedule messages
Review and analyze daily production numbers
Proactively advises management of deviations from MPS, and
reasons for any deviations
Recommend solutions to improve service levels and lower costs
Eliminate back-ordered goods, and resolves outstanding
backorders quickly and permanently by coordinating activities with
Production, Supply-Chain, and Distribution staff.
Develop and implement production and inventory optimization
strategies for promotions, new products, discontinued products and all
other stocked product. Updates the master data and/or production
schedule to correspond with strategy, and monitors results for
success.
Manage Inventory Levels, Inventory dollars and excess
obsolete products for their products
Reconcile forecast and MPS requirements vs. capacity
constraints
Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships. Advises
manager of potential problems
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
B.S./B.A. In Operations, Purchasing/Procurement, Supply Chain
5-7 years experience "exception based" scheduling with an ERP
/ APS system in a Retail Manufacturing environment serving Retail
Super-Stores
Previous experience purchasing products from Asia and Mexico
Demonstrated knowledge of MPS and MRP purchasing/planning
systems, and MS Excel, Access, and Word software
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are
required.
A sense of urgency, and accountability

Bi-Lingual – English / Spanish / Asian
