Also referred to as Semi-Cross
Basically an off road bike, not as aggressive a suspension on it, and turn signals, etc... to make it road legal.

A blast to ride.

Same here. Never heard of semi-cross.
Enduro/dual-purpose/dual-sport/supermoto(supermotard)/etc ...

You can call it a dual-sport or enduro. Never heard of a semi-cross. Is that a cross between a 18 wheeler and a bike? The name enduro was never specific to a particular model. It was always an umbrella term. For a couple of thousand bucks I would suggest looking at the Honda XR250L. I've owned one and they are a great bike. Not lots of horesepower but great for the trail and good for riding in town.

Yamaha had an "enduro" model.. I think it was in the mid 70's, I can't remember the cc but I do remember it being printed on the exhaust system gaurd .

That is true .

Look into a later model Yamaha WR250 or bigger, it will be way better in the suspension department for rougher riding and still be comparable in the power department.
You are basically going to get junk for anywhere less than 2 grand, I would plan on spending a bit more [ at least 3 ] and feel a bit more confident it will not let you down in the middle of nowhere..
Good luck.
Dave.
Fly motocross.
