Our systems consulting firm is currently recruiting for a skilled
PROJECT LEADER. This is a PERMANENT position, located in TORONTO.
Working within the PMO group and reporting to the Group Lead, the
successful candidate will be responsible for: leading and managing
multiple complex technology projects, from inception to
implementation; and handing off the product or system to Operations
and Support; working with and through internal and external technical
staff at all levels of expertise, both within and outside Canada,
throughout the project life cycle.
The Project Leader will be able to effectively manage the project
plan, budget and resources to ensure that project commitments and
expectations are met to the client's satisfaction. To succeed in this
position, the incumbent must be a highly skilled negotiator and
facilitator, with demonstrated competence in relationship building and
conflict resolution, and possess superior presentation skills.
Required skills include:
-degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, or related field is
required
-must have completed courses in project management, conflict
management, business process re-engineering, managing e-business
projects, etc.
-demonstrated knowledge of current and leading-edge technology
-ability to identify and apply opportunities for using technologies to
support business objectives
-experience in training new staff in technical fundamentals
-must have actively managed projects for at least the past two years,
including experience with structured project management methodology in
leading a project
-demonstrated understanding of business processes, relationship
management, and product or service integration and deployment, project
and change management
-proven problem-solving skills, with ability to motivate and encourage
team members by probing them for new ideas and fostering enthusiasm,
and ensuring cooperation among teams with conflicting goals and
objectives
-must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with
superior presentation skills
