There always is some sequense. Even if it happens to be just alphapetical order of file names or time when images were taken. It may not have any special meaning, but it can be used to show thing one at the time. You can't throw 100 photos on floor, and then look them 1 at the time, whitout using some order. Of course, you can make server side program that will show random image untill all is looked, but that is higly unusable.
