I have seen this happen periodically when over 1024 fonts are
installed on a system.
I presume you have installed the Adobe font manager as well - try to
install your font in different sets, and disable the ones you aren't
using (incidentally - reducing the number of active fonts also speeds
up windows quite a bit).
