If you uninstall any version of the JRE, the registry keys that Opera
needs to find Java are deleted. Thus, installing 1.4.2 and then
uninstalling 1.4.1.3 would leave any version of Opera not able to use
the JRE.
If that is what happened, IIRC you should uninstall JRE 1.4.2 and then
reinstall it.

Others have said that 1.4.2 is case sensitive, so it might help to
open the 6.06 Opera.policy file in a text editor, scroll to the end,
and replace the last part of the path to the Opera.jar file which has:
classes/opera.jar
with
Classes/Opera.jar

Joe:
Thanks for help, well, I have exactly the same situation than Dario, so
maybe to have two opera's version affected to 6.06, but when java 1.4.4.3
both versions worked so well, by the way...I didn't explain so right my case
like Dario did, so maybe some guidance?
