When I read it, I must admit that I, too, was flabbergasted. But, you're forgetting that Leftwing Liberals have absolutely no use for substantiated facts. Their milieu is propaganda, gossip, half-truths, sins of omission,
scare-tactics, hysteria, name-calling, personal slurs, evading the issues,
refusing to discuss the issues, refusing to educate themselves on the issues and refusing to listen to anyone who doesn't amply display any of the above.

It appeared to be a prison for children - toddlers up to pre-adolescents - whose only crime was to be the offspring of those who have spoken out politically against the regime of Saddam Hussein. It was a horrific scene. Actually I'm not going to describe what I saw there because what I saw was so horrible that it can be used by those who would want to promote war with Iraq, and right now I'm waging peace."

So, because he said nothing in 1998, those children stayed in that jail for five more years. Why am I not surprised? I'm surprised he isn't reporting for CNN...

"You know, if you paw through the reams of resolutions put forth by the UN, I ’m sure you’ll find one that outlaws special jails for children, too. I’m no longer interested in reading the arguments of people who regard a war that empties the children’s jails as a greater evil than the jails themselves. And I don’t share their horror for the word “illegal,” particularly in the context of international law. Is the worst thing about modern-day slavery its illegality? Or the fact that it’s slavery?
