The items sold at Zellers are not the same quality as that of the Bay. Even
articles from the same
manufacturer. I've bought Fruit of the Loom underwear from the Bay and Zellers.
The stuff I bought
at Zellers all fell apart within a year. I still have the Bay FOL's.

The same as BestBuy vs. FutureShop

Someone suggested yesterday that Futile shop was high end and BB was low end.
If that's the case, they must have some pretty shitty stuff at BB.

I went about a week ago to find a cell phone charger and came
away empty handed.
From what I could tell they have few different items and make up
for it by puting 40 of the same item out to fill up the dispays.
It is a gargantuan store, but there is greater model selection
at your mall's Radio Shack. Reminded me of shopping in Hungary,
back when it was communist, actually. Lots of stuff, but it is
all the same.

The Gap owns Old Navy and Banana Republic.
Best Buy bought Future Shop a few years back.

That's the American Discount Way™. They find what they think
fits the 80th percentile, get the best price, and then that's
all they offer. If you're in the other 20 percent, you won't
find what you want.
Radio Shack has gone the other direction and realized customers
wanted more than just their brands.
