Our east coast client is looking for a Public Relations Officer.
You will prepare a comprehensive public relations plan addressing media,
community, industry and employee relations objectives and be responsible for
its' implementation. Public relations strategies will be prepared for
various corporate related activities with the officer being responsible for
their implementation (i.e. Awards, sponsorships to community organizations,
etc.)
Responsibilities:
Write press releases and corporate communication pieces;
Research public opinion, statement of facts, prepare materials relating to
public relations activities;
Maintain contacts, coordinate interviews, field requests for information,
sponsorships, memberships; and
Liaison for local associations, businesses, events and sponsorships to
ensure corporate participation is appropriate, strategic and beneficial to
the overall public relations strategy. The officer will source such
opportunities to promote the corporate brand.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations
(or Business Administration with a specialty in public relations);
Minimum of 10 years in a related position; and
S/he will also have strong written and verbal communication skills,
excellent people skills, and strong problem solving skills.
