Yes... 369 kms (or so) in about 7 hours. (with stops for gas, ice
cream (JO!), and of course... CHOCOLATE!!! hehehe)
(And the occaisional strawberry licorice cat'o'nine tails)
Great fun folks. We need to get an official photographer for these
runs. (Anyone with a digital camera will do)
The best part was arriving to my driveway only 3 SECONDS before the
heavens opened up.
Hope you didn't get TOO soaked, Zeek! :)
I'm getting ONE more run in before my fateful departure.

yep...
Mike and Angie led the way... we paralleled the 401 on a few backroads north
of Kingston to the 10, then into Westport, and from there we took the 36/6
to Perth, then the 10 through Richmond.
After leaving Jo and Diane at the 43 (they were headed to the Reach), Zeek
at the 15 and Craig at Eagleson, I saw Dave C and Atrate home... then the
deluge hit IMMEDIATELY after I left... soaked, but nothing to dampen my
spirits.
Again, a fun run today Ziggy... glad you could join, and glad your home safe
and sound too...

Ziggy, I led them on a back roads route from Gan to Inverary, where we
hooked up onto #10. It was a great ride, hardly any traffic at all. Stopped
at the Esso in Westport for a water/chips/ice cream stop and then Angie and
I split for home from there. Sorry you didn't come along but you probably
would have found the pace pretty slow anyways, right? ;)

It was a truly GREAT day today!!!! I'm so glad that some of us were able to
hook up and ride, and spend the day together :)
So glad to meet Zeek, too :) Grrl, you are amazing. Hope you got back
without getting soaked in the short downpour we had (funny....Kanata did not
get a DROP of rain)....
Special thanks to Ziggy and Craig and the redoubtable Gummiente for leading
and, as always, to DaveInOttawa for truly exemplary tail-gunner service.

We did take the #10 (with some very imaginative detours courtesy of Mike
Palmer), Ziggy. The ride was GREAT!!!! Glad you and Steven had fun going
back in "hyper-drive" :)
Sorry you got caught in the rain. Thank you so much for leading to Gan :)

Got to The Reach and Colleen, Steven and Jacob were leaving :(
Stayed a little while until the down pour passed and then headed home.
What a beautiful day, great ride, and above all, EXCELLENT company !!!!
Looking forward to the next ride.

glad to hear Rolly -
I guess you took a short cut back to the city... everyone knows you "can't
do Westport to Ottawa" in an hour, and of course, you would NEVER ride above
the posted speed.
I'm guessing that your watch must have been a bit fast, and you actually had
more time than you first thought... Yeah, that's it... you took your sweet
time...

I was following cars most of the way.
It was not as far as people think. I read about 105 km from my odometer.
It took a bit over an hour so I guess I was not too much over the speed
limits (on the average).
I am sure that Ziggy and Steve on their 'hyper-drive' run was more
'energetic'.
I just did not stop (other than stop signs that is ...)
The 'hour' time frame was just to inform people that Westport is not really
that far if you just count riding time and none of the 'prep' time which a
group ride takes. (just in case people have to make it home in the future)
It was not meant to indicate any 'warp speed'

Morning Gana-Group! Now that the old bones are out of the horizontal
position...excellent ride yesterday guys. Nice to be able to apply a
few more faces to the names..A, DC, CJ, Mikey and his lovely better
half Angie, Wayne, Lady Di and Rog as well as hook up with Dave and Jo
for an actual ride.
Hope the weather didn't dampen the 'fireworks watching' for anyone and
I see 'almost' everyone got home still dry. It completely missed me.
Got a few drops just as I closed the garage door but nothing more up
this way.
Glad to hear Ziggy, Steven and the young lad got home ok. I did
manage to get to warp 8 through CP (just to make sure it was still
running on all 4). :D
You've got some pretty sweat scenerey down there Mike and Angie. The
Mr. and I will without doubt be headed that way again in the not too
distant future - as he missed out on yesterday. Thanks very much for
the hospitality and taking time to show us around.
Thanks Craig for sharing your water, Wayne for the extra chocolate,
Dave for makin' sure no one got left in the weeds and Atrate for just
being yurself gurl.
Cheers,
Zeek

Dave, When exactly is D-Day anyway? I'd like to get them buttons on
your vest sewn back on before you go. Had a needle and thread with me
yesterday - but thought is would have been a bit forward of me to
suggest the removal of clothing on our first meet. :D
I have a feeling you're going to leave a bit of a gap when you go.
Let me know when your next run is - I'd like to send you off with a
proper hug.
Cheers,
Zeek
