My insurance company has filipped its lid. When I phoned to get coverage
for my Madura yesterday (Monday) they told me I could not make any
modifications to it or they would drop my insurance. I had thought I
might like to lower it, maybe add some forward controls to it and
possibly change the handlebars.
The cost of my coverage for an '85 Suzuki Madura GV 700 is exactly the
same as for an '87 Kawasaki Voyageur XII. I expected some sort of a drop
in price. $2,000,000.00 PL & PD, and specified perils (everything EXCEPT
collision) was going to cost me $635.00 for the year.
I need to know who uses which company and how to get hold of them for a
quote.

Thanks Dave. They were about $90.00 less than the company I am currently
with.

hey Ken ... do have a car too?
I have State farm, and having just had my M1 for a few months when I
started my policy with them, (but my G for 9 years at the time) I pay $660
for everything less collision ...not sure if it's $1mill or $2mill
liability though (for the motorbike premium)...
between the car ('90 Tercel) and 86 GS750es I pay $113/mth for 12 months...
hope that helps...
OH YA, one thing ... if you call a state farm rep, and they say they have
reached their quota, dont' worry about it, just call another area state
farm agent ... and you'll find one ... that's what I had to do ...

Ken...
I found that with Primmum, the phone quote was a bit lower than the
online. FYI.

My insurance company where I had my car and house insurance wanted $900 plpd
only for my 1990 VX800 and I'm 63 with years of driving experience. I only
paid $3500 for the damn bike. Basically, they said they just don't want the
business but if you are crazy enough to pay it's ok. I switched all my
insurance to grey power (Allianz ins. co.)

It's frustrating when you know all the answers, but
nobody bothers to ask you the questions
